Rely on Us to Help Restore Missing Teeth

Dental implants are one of the most advanced restorations in dentistry because they are made from high-grade materials and mimic natural teeth. A dental implant is a titanium screw that is inserted into the jawbone to replace the missing tooth's root and an artificial tooth that replaces it.

The implant will be held firmly in place by the bone and will be connected to an abutment that will serve as the "new" tooth's post. The prosthetic tooth will be held in place by the abutment and crown, which prevents it from slipping off. As a disclaimer, Dr. Kak is a general dentist with specialized training in implants. She is not a licensed oral surgeon. Call ATI Dental Care to schedule an appointment today.

Why Would You Require a Dental Implant?

A dental implant can be used to restore a missing tooth in patients of all age groups. Some of the common reasons for tooth loss are dental decay, external trauma to the mouth, gum diseases, etc. Dental implants can also help improve your appearance by restoring your confidence.

What Is the Procedure Involved In Placing a Dental Implant?

The dentist will thoroughly diagnose your oral condition during your initial consultation with us. This helps us understand your health and immunity and also determine whether you have the ideal jawbone density to support an implant. X-rays and scans will be taken to understand your bone health and jawbone structure.

During the initial procedure, local anesthesia is used to numb your gums and soft tissues. Dental tools are used for making a small opening in the gums through which a highly precise dental drill is used to remove some of the jawbones, making space for the implant. The dentist will now insert the implant into your jawbone and secure it in place using dental adhesives. A healing period of several months will be suggested to allow the bone tissue to grow around the implant and firmly secure it in place.

During your next visit to our practice, we will precisely determine how much space would be required for fitting the crown over the implant. The dentist will take precise digital scans of your teeth and create a digital restoration that would serve as a reference for fabricating your crown. It will be sent to a dental laboratory where skilled artisans use high-precision machines to fabricate it from high-grade porcelain material. Since porcelain is a translucent material, it allows for mimicking the appearance of natural teeth perfectly. Once fabricated, we will bond it permanently to the implant using adhesives and make sure it fits comfortably in your mouth.
